"It was a brave man who first ate an oyster"

It was Irishman Johnathan Swift who gave us that famous line and we bring it to you as a reminder that October marks the start of oyster season. Read more here about how oysters are coming back in vogue in American cuisine.

At Clancy's we've known that all along! Here are some great oyster selections on our menu.

- Oysters on the half shell -- the bravest choice of them all!

- Sesame fried oysters (voted by Cape Cod Magazine as one of the best things to eat on Cape Cod) -- A generous serving of hot plump oysters perfectly battered in a secret sesame breading and fried in trans fat free oil to a golden brown.  Accompanied by a mound of cool pickled ginger, a lively Wasabi Dipping Sauce and a serving of Seaweed Salad makes this a ying-yang Cape-Cod-Asian fusion.

- Fried Oysters -- standard Cape Cod fare. We fry only in trans fat free oil and that makes them juicy, plump and golden. Order an appetizer portion or a dinner plate which comes with steak fries, homemade cole slaw and homemade tartar sauce.
