Clancy's is the Winner of the 30th Annual Boston Chowder Fest!
Here's the story:
In March, we received a call from the Boston Chowder Fest telling us that a VIP on the board recommended we participate. Apparently he loves Clancy's and our chowder so much, he had the committee reach out and invite us. We did not even register for this event!!
We graciously said yes -- how can you say no to an unknown angel who loves Clancy's so much that he paved a path to downtown Boston?
Well......200 gallons of fresh, home made, authentic, Clancy's-style chowder made it's way up to Boston along with our brilliant GM, Ron, our outstanding KM, Mike, and our hard-working, enthusiastic serving team consisting of Abby, Allegra, Casey, Effie, Erica, Jake and Rob. Of course, we can't forget our amazing team who stayed at Clancy's and held down the fort.
It's no joke: the secret ingredient to the best chowder? It's made with a ton of love!!!!

God Bless America
As Memorial Day marks the beginning of the summer season, especially here on the Cape, let's all remember what the day really stands for.....to honor our fallen soldiers who died protecting our freedom. Long live freedom.
Did you know......to help remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to 'Taps."
Lyrics to Taps:
Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.
Go to sleep,
peaceful sleep,
May the soldier
or sailor,
God keep.
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.
Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day,
And the night
Need thee so?
All is well.
Speedeth all
To their rest.
Fades the light;
And afar
Goeth day,
And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well;
Day has gone,
Night is on.
Thanks and praise,
For our days,
'Neath the sun,
Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.

Clancy's Beloved Owner, Guy Erickson, Passes Away
June 24, 1950 - April 27, 2011
I would like to sincerely thank all our customers, suppliers, colleagues, neighbors and especially staff for your caring concern and tender notes of condolence over Guy's passing. I will treasure your loving words and support forever.
For 19 years Clancy’s was a great part of Guy’s life. And in the last two years he certainly was the face – and the voice – of Clancy’s. I know we will all miss him dearly, especially his sweet smile and authentically friendly nature. He was undeniably warm, gentle and gracious. As the sole owner of Clancy’s (and who I would refer to as the “soul” owner) he was my love, our favorite guy and the true spirit of hospitality, treating everyone with enormous generosity, compassion, and friendship.
It will be my personal honor and my team’s mission to keep his spirit alive from this day forward. Clancy’s is, and will always remain, a landmark restaurant. We invite you to help us fulfill Guy’s dream of having Clancy’s be the heart of the Cape landscape. As he always said, “Clancy’s is not just a restaurant, but a home away from home, a place of great memories.”
We invite you to celebrate Clancy’s 25th summer on the Cape and help us plan for many, many more. Join me and my team as we carry on Guy’s dream and the Clancy’s tradition of fine food and friendly faces.
Martha Mendoza
Guy’s devoted wife and Clancy’s Owner

"It was a brave man who first ate an oyster"
It was Irishman Johnathan Swift who gave us that famous line and we bring it to you as a reminder that October marks the start of oyster season. Read more here about how oysters are coming back in vogue in American cuisine.
At Clancy's we've known that all along! Here are some great oyster selections on our menu.
- Oysters on the half shell -- the bravest choice of them all!
- Sesame fried oysters (voted by Cape Cod Magazine as one of the best things to eat on Cape Cod) -- A generous serving of hot plump oysters perfectly battered in a secret sesame breading and fried in trans fat free oil to a golden brown. Accompanied by a mound of cool pickled ginger, a lively Wasabi Dipping Sauce and a serving of Seaweed Salad makes this a ying-yang Cape-Cod-Asian fusion.
- Fried Oysters -- standard Cape Cod fare. We fry only in trans fat free oil and that makes them juicy, plump and golden. Order an appetizer portion or a dinner plate which comes with steak fries, homemade cole slaw and homemade tartar sauce.

Clancy's Needs Your Help to End Childhood Hunger
For the second year in a row, Clancy's is the only independent restaurant on the Cape to participate in Share Our Strength's Great American Dine-out. Yes, folks, this is in an area where you could throw a stick (or should we say fork) and hit a restaurant!
Clancy's is proud to lead the effort on the Cape this year once again.
The Great American Dine-out is a nation-wide effort that asks restaurants to participate by donating a portion of their sales during the week of September 19-25, 2010 to help end childhood hunger in America.
Last year, with the help of our loyal customers and terrific staff, Clancy's made one of the largest donations for an independent restaurant. In fact, Clancy's was featured on their national website. (Click here to read the article.)
This year we want to beat our own record -- and we need your help.
It's this easy: Dine with us at Clancy's from September 19-25 knowing that the more you eat, the more you can help hungry children eat.
Go ahead, dine with us often that week -- try a dish you haven't tried yet, order some food for take-out or order from our Family Style To-Go menu (Clancy's famous menu in portions large enough to feed a crowd!).
Either way, the more you eat, the more hungry children will eat.
Plus, when you dine with us that week, you'll earn a valuable coupon you can use at a future visit.
Watch this video or click here to go to Share Our Strength's website for more info.

Cape Cod Life's Reviews Clancy's

Clancy's Gets Recognized for Doing the Right Thing
For one week in September 2009, Clancy's, along with hundreds of other restaurants nationwide, pledged a portion of their sales to Share Our Strength's "Great American Dine0ut", a national program that aims to end childhood hunger in the U.S.
Well, Clancy's was just informed that we were one of the largest contributors on the independent restaurant side and they are showcasing Clancy's on their national website. We couldn't be more proud. (Click here to see Clancy's on their website.)
Thanks to our internal team for promoting the event and for our customers who contributed along with us. We could not have done it without you!!
Now, here's something you may not know. Clancy's was the ONLY restaurant on Cape Cod to participate in this national program. Imagine that: when you went to The Great American Dineout's website to search for participating restaurants, Clancy's was the only one to show up on the entire Cape.
This year Clancy's will participate again -- and this year we appeal to all restaurants on the Cape to participate. Let's put Cape Cod on the map! We are excellent at what we do, so why don't we become excellent in giving back to this important cause and help Cape Cod stand out this year. Call us with any questions you may have and we'll be happy to assist you.
To register, click here. And tell them Clancy's sent you.

Recently, WQRC held their 4th Annual Valentine’s Day Contest where they asked their listeners to submit romantic love poems to their sweethearts. Daily winners would win a $25 gift certificate to Clancy's and the grand prize winner would win a $100 certificate.Todd Haskins was randomly selected as the grand prize winner!
And just look at what Todd wrote:
My wife, in so many ways you are my inspiration,

I love you more and more

To win dinner at Clancy's would be such a romantic treat
and for this WQRC contest I decided on prose over a haiku
your lovely candlelit eyes with something yummy to eat
You are the best
I love you tons
on this I must persist
and with some luck we will win

Good Luck Surly Johnson!!
Clancy's owners, husband-and-wife team Guy Erickson and Martha Mendoza, were in Raynham, MA, last night for Christian Fauria's grand opening of his sports bar "Surly Johnson."
As they sipped on Christian's secret recipe for "Dirty Johnsons" (what a name!), they mingled with sports legends Doug Flutie, Dan Koppen and restaurant industry colleagues Eric Spitz of Narragansett Beer and Mark Barry of The Sand Dollar. See photos here.
We wish Christian the very best -- owning a restaurant is hard work, but we know you'll be a giant success!

He was 93.We will miss our dear friend, who came in the day before he passed to eat one of his favorite meals with us -- broiled scallops. He told us he knew it was going to be has last time out. Clancy's is Famous! We Were on TV This Morning!
Fox TV's Zip Trip was in Dennis this morning and Clancy's was one of three restaurants featured. We were the first ones interviewed and we couldn't keep Joe Malone away from our Lobster Roll.
What a great event. Thanks Fox TV and thanks to all our staff and customers for showing up and giving us support.
Our deepest thanks to our kitchen team who prepared a beautiful spread.
And look at those plates! Be sure to come in to Clancy's -- we serve you "the cape on your plate!"

No Bottled, Just Fresh
These days anyone can order bottled ranch dressing or bottled tartar sauce.
At Clancy's they make it fresh every day. Because they care and because fresh is always better. Don't you agree? The more you know, the more you'll taste.
I especially like some ranch dressing on my side vegetables which are always steamed to perfection.

Our Buffalo Wings are 45th on Cape Cod Magazine's "99 Best Things to Eat"
Actually, 45 is the number of times a week we get requests for our delicious recipe! But how we can blame people for trying to score the recipe? These boneless buffalo wings are sweet, spicy, tender and juicy. I like to combine mine with a fresh salad.
And because I think they are tasty cold, I always bring some to the beach. They make for a great lunch; no forks needed.
Remember to take an order home with you tomorrow's day at the beach!

Raw Bar With a View
At Clancy's cozy raw bar, you can order oysters on the half shell, littlenecks and more. Other inventive items include oyster shooters and seaweed salad.
And the view is breathtaking. Not only can you see the river from your seat at the Raw Bar, it's great for people watching since it's near the rear entrance that goes to the back parking lot and outdoor waterfront deck.
